Book Inspirations

The first steps for this book took place in a used book store. I found a book; a map book of England. It measured about 24 inches tall by 16 inches wide. Inside were intricately detailed sections of England, with each page covering about 6-10 square miles (my numbers could be off). Being the history nerd that I am, and liking to see things in the larger prospective, I photocopied the entire book and with the help of a very large kitchen and family room floor and clear packing tape, I proceeded to put the pieces of this puzzle together. Its total size was over 15 feet tall by 8-10 feet wide.

After completely the project, I noticed a couple interesting things on the map which began the process in my mind of the original story. A number of years passed before I sat down to start the process of writing the screenplay. It had always been a movie in my mind. But as I started writing, a book was born, and in the twists and turns of a modern day treasure hunt, I saw a story that was a near perfect reflection of my completely imperfect self.
